RABQSA-IS ISO 27001: 2005 Information Security Management Systems (1 Day)
Purpose
The information presented in this one day course forms the basis for a systematic and integrated approach to Information Security management. It also enables participants to gain an understanding of the requirements of all the elements in ISO/IEC 27001:2005.
The course examines the benefits of implementing an Information Security Management System and the compatibility of information security and quality management systems.
The program explains the significant features of an ISMS and the terminology and methodology used in the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 Standard.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for participants with knowledge or understanding of ISO/IEC 27001:2005
It is suitable for
• Auditors and Lead Auditors who are required to conduct internal/external ISMS audits.
• people who are responsible for conducting any security audit.
What will be achieved?
Upon successful completion of this course participants should be able to:
• Understand OECD principles, codes of practices, and standards;
• Assess the risk of identified threats and vulnerabilities in the context of the organisation’s information security management system;
• Assess the effectiveness of methodologies to mitigate information security risks.
• Assess the ISMS roles and responsibilities within the context of the organisational environment;
• Determine the adequacy and effectiveness of an ISMS management system.
Course recognition
On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a ‘Certificate of Attainment’, covering the competencies of RABQSA-IS Module.
This certificate enables successful candidates to apply to RABQSA International for certification
as a provisional auditor when combined with competencies either RABQSA-AU or with both RABQSA-AU and RABQSA-TL.
